Cornet player Dixie Dwyer gets a job in Harlem's famous Cotton Club, while his brother gets a job as Dutch Schultz's bodyguard. Dwyer falls for Schultz's mistress Vera Cicero, and finds himself caught in the middle of mobster rivalry in this stylish gangster film.
